Chestermere is located 15 minutes East of Calgary and has rapidly evolved from a lakeside summer village to a dynamic and recreational oasis.  Originally named Chestermere Lake, the community officially became a city in 2014 as it neared a population of almost 20,000 residents.

Chestermere is well known for its lake, fed by the Bow River, that is used for boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, paddleboarding, fishing, and other water sports.  Chestermere Lake is also home to the Calgary Yacht Club and offers day use parks for launching boats and beaches.

Perfect for active living, biking, skateboarding and jogging, the city is conveniently connected to the Calgary bicycle pathway system at the south end of West Chestermere.  Chestermere Drive also offers bike trails surrounding the lake, a BMX park and a skate park. Lakeside Greens Golf Course in Chestermere is a semi-private 18 hole golf course.

There are several school options serving the residents.
