Some of Calgary’s best communities are located on the west side between downtown Calgary and the corridor to the Rocky Mountain parks.

Approximately 15 minutes from Calgary’s downtown core, or by LRT to the 69th Street Station, the westside offers shopping, amazing dining, some of Calgary’s best schools, and plenty of outdoor activities. Continue west into nature’s playground, just an hour west to Banff National Park. In the summer, enjoy Calaway Amusement Park, several local golf courses, mountain biking, summer skyline luge, mini golf and zip lining at WinSport, or just explore the local parks and trails. WinSport offers skiing, skating, and tubing in the winter.

The west side offers ample shopping areas including:

Aspen Landing includes professional services such as medical, dental, and law firms, banks, clothing shops, florists, hair and beauty salons, groceries, and several restaurants and coffee shops such as Starbucks, David’s Tea, Original Joe’s, Ladybug Bakery & Cafe, and Diner Deluxe to name a few!

The West Hills Shopping Centre in Signal Hill area offers a lot of big box shopping options like Canadian Tire, Best Buy, Michael’s, Lowe’s, Winners, and Cineplex Odeon Cinemas. It also includes the Westhills Towne Centre shopping mall.

West Springs at 85th Street provides dining at Mercato West, Vin Room West, My Favourite Ice Cream Shop, Brekkie, and conveniences such as Co-op, Starbucks, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Blair’s No Frills.

The westside communities offer several of Calgary’s best schools.
